Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to provide an update to the state’s COVID-19 response at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from Lansing.
Whitmer is expected to be joined by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is also expected to join the news conference to provide an update on the upcoming general election and voting opportunities for Michiganders in advance of the Nov. 3 election.

On Monday, the Whitmer administration and Republican leaders in the Legislature have reached an agreement on spending targets for the 2021 budget.
And she extended Michigan’s state of emergency related to the coronavirus pandemic through Oct. 1.
